Start a College vs Cancer chapter.
We're building a national network of student-led chapters. Each campus runs an annual comedy show and adds whatever else fits its culture.
Students at Michigan, Penn, Virginia and Miami have already reached out. If you want to lead one at your school, or you work at a university and want to host, write to us.
What students do
- Recruit performers, players and a committee of classmates
- Find local sponsors and run individual fundraising campaigns
- Promote the event on campus and on social media
- Run the show or tournament from start to finish
- Recommend AYA cancer research projects for us to fund, with a real say in where the money goes
What we do
- Secure professional comedians as well as national sponsors
- Provide marketing, social media support and branding
- Provide fundraising training and guidance
- Help educate and make grants to cancer institutes, allocating funds to research initiatives focused on AYA cancer
Where the money goes. So far, funds have supported blood cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. As we add campuses, we want a share of each school's proceeds to go to that university's own cancer research center, alongside our support for young adult cancer research at MSK.
